「oriente（オリエンテ）」のブランド名で約半世紀にわたり、コントラバス、ビオラダガンバ、チェロの製作を行う工房。素材から塗装まで、すべてにこだわりをもって、和鉋など日本の道具で丁寧に手作りで仕上げられた職人仕事によるもの。できあがった楽器が奏でる音色は、風格があり、のびやかでバランスの取れた音が特長。自分だけのオリジナル楽器が欲しい！という要望にも、希望にあった完全オーダーメイド制作で対応してくれる。
Over the past half-century, Higashi String Instrument Factory has been making contrabass, viola da gamba, and cello. From the process of choosing materials to coating, the artisans make instruments carefully with traditional Japanese carpentry tools. Their instruments produce stately and extensive sounds and their balanced sounds make each one distinctive. The company also accepts requests for made to order string instruments.
