The challenge of Yosano hop to create a new industry in their hometown
与謝野町は、北半球において最も早くホップが収穫できると言われる産地だ。生産者がひとつひとつ手摘みで収穫し、その日のうちに真空冷凍したホップは、乾燥ホップにはない強烈な香りが特徴。お客様との定期的なコミュニケーションの機会を生み、丹後地域の暮らしや与謝野ホップの魅力に触れる活動にも力を入れている。昨年から与謝野町内で新たにクラフトビール事業を立ち上げる動きもあり、今後も与謝野ホップの挑戦には目が離せない。
Yosano Town is said to be the earliest place in the northern hemisphere where hops can be harvested. The hops are harvested by hand one by one and vacuum frozen immediately on the same day. The hops give a good strong aroma which dried hops can’t offer. The guild is also working hard to create opportunities for frequent interaction with customers and to show the lifestyle of the Tango region as well as the appeals of Yosano hops. A new craft beer business has been launched in Yosano Town last year. Keep your eyes on the hopes and challenges of Yosano hops.
