華やかで独創的な器を生み出し続ける京焼の最大の工房
The biggest Kyo-yaki pottery factory creating creative crafts
1922年創業。華麗にして繊細という京焼の伝統を守りつつ、現代の感覚を取り入れた研究開発にも力を入れ、新たな技術の創出に取り組み、特に草花をモチーフとした器は広く知られる。京都最大・約30人の職人がロクロ成形、絵付、施釉、焼成などを手掛ける工房の様子は圧巻。
Since 1922, Touan has been creating pottery retaining the traditional style of the gorgeous and elaborate Kyo-yaki (Kyoto style pottery) whilst adding modern sensibilities into their works. With their research and development team, they have been creating new techniques and products. Moreover, this is the largest factory with the highest number of specialized craftspeople.
