Tell the ancient aesthetics through the metal craft techniques

京都で江戸後期（約200年前）より金属工芸を営み、現在7代目がその伝統を受け継ぐ。手作業での製造にあえてこだわり、金銀銅をはじめとする金属素材を中心に、茶道具・仏具・香道具など幅広く製作するほか、修復・修繕も行う。15年ほど前に「かざりや 鐐」を開店し、若手中心に様々な銀細工を幅広い層に向けて製造・販売。

Working in the metal craft industry in Kyoto since the late Edo Period, Chikueidou has passed down the tradition over 7 generations. They are dedicated to the hand manufacturing of metallic materials such as gold and silver to produce, repair, and restore tea utensils, buddhist objects, incense tools, etc. Recently, they opened up a store called “Kazariya Ryo” with hopes to broaden their appeal to younger generations.
