An array of woven textiles using shiny yarn
一人で一台の機を見守るきめ細やかな作業を得意とする多品種小ロットの織物製造業。徳川美術館の宝物袱紗を再現する際に開発した独自の糸を用いて織り上げる織物は、国内外で高く評価されている。昨年夏2か所で稼働していた工房を統合し、手織り機・機械織機の両方を一ヶ所で見学できるようになった。世界で唯一であろう150㎝幅の手織り機も公開する。
One person watching over each loom, Masuya Takao specializes in the precision of small volume production of many types of fabrics. Using their original threads, they reproduced treasured fukusa (silk cloth) from the Tokugawa Art Museum which has been highly appreciated both in Japan and abroad. Since they merged their two factories, visitors can watch both hand and machine looms at one place. The rare wider hand loom, probably only one in the world, which can produce wide 150 cm width fabric is also shown.
