京都府から「京もの認定工芸士」に認定された若手職人が活躍する長岡銘竹。
代表の三島一郎さんは竹に関する国家資格を3つ取得し、「京都府伝統産業優秀技術者・京の名工」の表彰も受ける。桂離宮、修学院離宮、京都迎賓館、平安神宮、金閣寺、銀閣寺など名だたる京都の名所の竹垣施工にも長く携わっている。今回公開する亀岡の第二工房では竹垣だけでなく、インテリアや竹を用いた雑貨など、竹の可能性を追求した新たな取り組みについて学べる。

Nagaoka Meichiku is a studio specialized in bamboo products. Their president, Ichiro Mishima possesses three national certification as a bamboo craftsman and has been awarded as the “Excellent Master of Kyoto’s Craftsman.” The studio has been appointed as the bamboo specialist by Katsura and Shugakuin Imperial Villas, Kyoto State Guest House, Kinkaku-ji Temple (Golden Pavilion) and more. Visitors can learn about bamboo fences as well as modern interior decoration items made of bamboo.
